This is one of Subrat Kumar Behera’s early works titled Journey of Self-Discovery. As in the case with most of his early works, the palette is kept very minimal in terms of color and there is an overall sense of gloom. These works reflect the artist’s struggles of migration, desire, survival during his move to Vadodara to pursue his master’s program at the Faculty of Fine Arts.
The works follow a synoptic nature of narrative and gradually start moving towards a more boschesque format. Alongside working in printmaking, he also works in the mediums of painting and sculpture. Astanzi represents Subrat on its online platform. You can find more of his works on the website.
